mdsave - Information architecture project

 

MY ROLE: 

UX/UI designer (Alongside 1 UX writer/Content strategist).
Collaborated with VP of Design and other stakeholders.
Focus on Information architecture and visual deliverables like sitemaps and user flows. Highlighted problems in nomenclature.

ABOUT: 

MDsMDsave is an online marketplace for healthcare. This startup is bring together patients seeking affordable, reliable care with providers offering high quality service packages at fair prices.

BACKGROUND:

MDsave was in a state of rapid growth and needed to make changes to their internal tools in order to onboard a higher volume of customer and providers to their platform. 
MDsave has a customer facing website that is administrated by a Content Management System (CMS). The scope of work was focused on the CMS.

CHALLENGES:

There was a lack of knowledge in how their Content Management System (CMS) was configured and how the main user flows was built.
MDsave was aware of usability issues but, in order to make changes, they need more clarity.
Learning medical terminology and understanding aspects of the American Healthcare system. 
Ad-hoc development process of the CMS that didn’t stress usability.

PROCESS:

Research and discovery.
Capture and Identify problem areas.
Present and suggest solutions.
 

DELIVERABLES:

  • MDsave Glossary
  • 36 page documentation including descriptions and explanations of concepts and functions within the CMS, user flows and nomenclature. Here are issues raised, solutions and recommendations or solutions presented.
  • Site map and Concept map.
